C.S. Lewis wrote this axiom in one (or perhaps more than one) of his many deservedly famous books. I agree with him.
Evil is deeply embedded in this planet. Its magnitude is unfathomable. CS Lewis, and some of his friends, held out hope that would change eventually. He - or they - believed that spiritual forces would eventually aid Tellus (Earth) to become free of the evil forces which have been in control of our planet for eons. I hope he and his hopeful friends were right, but I don't expect that this will occur anytime soon, certainly not within our lifetimes.
